The General Chiropractic CouncilThe College of Chiropractors Patient Partnership Quality Mark: Meeting Patient Expectations

"The College of Chiropractors believes that chiropractic services should be centred on the users of those services. The College supports the delivery of services that are flexible and responsive to the needs of patients, acknowledging them as partners in their own care." (Tim Jay DC FCC, President).

The College of Chiropractors launched the quality mark for chiropractic practices in September 2006. This Patient Partnership Quality Mark (PPQM) is awarded to recognise excellence in terms of meeting patient expectations.

In order to be awarded the Quality Mark Essential Chiropractic has to provide an extensive, evidence based submission demonstrating that patient expectations are met, and exceeded, over a wide range of topics, including - accessibility, booking systems and out-of-hours cover, cleanliness and safety, privacy, communication, patient education, record keeping and other methods of treatment. The PPQM is awarded for three years and it is hoped that this initiative will serve to identify new examples of good chiropractic practice as well as promoting and identifying standards for best practice in terms of meeting patient expectations.

Essential Chiropractic has successfully been awarded the PPQM for two consecutive periods and continues to focus on providing excellent, proven, quality chiropractic care for all patients.
